Anna Costello

Anna Costello is a working-class writer and former secondary school teacher from Consett, Co. Durham. Anna’s pilot DEAD CANNY was commissioned by UKTV, and broadcast on Dave in August 2022. Anna is currently a nominee for The Writers’ Guild’s Best TV Situational Comedy Award 2023, and was nominated for the All3Media New Comedy Script Award in 2021.

Anna is the senior creative at Electric Noir Studios, working on their BAFTA nominated series DEAD MAN’S PHONE, and developing and writing interactive series and short form content for their mobile story-telling platform, Scriptic.

Anna is currently developing her own projects, including a sitcom co-produced by Hat Trick Productions and Sea & Sky Pictures, a comedy drama series with Schnoobert Productions.

In 2023, Anna has won the RTS Rising Star Award (North East and Borders), and has been named as a Broadcast Hot Shot.
