Ben Glasstone

Ben is a composer, lyricist and theatre-maker. Especially known for creating family shows, he has written many “puppet musicals” for Little Angel and Polka Theatres, as well as for his own company, Monstro.  Monstro’s latest production is THE KING OF NOTHING (2021). His acclaimed musical THE MOUSE QUEEN (co-written with Tim Kane) ran both off-West End and off-Broadway at the New Victory Theatre in New York.   Ben won the Stiles and Drewe Mentorship Prize in 2017 for his musical REANIMATOR and he won the Best Song runner-up prize in 2019 for his song with Poppy Burton-Morgan from their musical THE RHYTHMICS, whose cast album was released in August 2020 (Aria Productions/Metta Theatre).  Ben has written music and lyrics for over thirty professional productions with companies including Royal Shakespeare Company, Hampstead Theatre, Lyric Hammersmith, Royal and Derngate, Royal Opera House (Linbury Theatre), Tricycle, and The Unicorn.
