Celia Legard and Amaya Owen Rowlands

Celia and Amaya are a comedy writing duo based in London. They met working as runners at Big Talk Productions in early 2020. While on furlough, Celia and Amaya wrote and produced a comedy short film, The Gospel According To Gail, during the UK’s first national lockdown. The film screened at ten BAFTA and Academy Award qualifying film festivals and was nominated for awards at LSFF, Underwire and Palm Springs ShortFest. The film went on to win BEST FILM awards at the British Urban Film Festival, INDI’s and the BFI Future Film Festival. 

Both still work at Big Talk, Amaya in the executive office and Celia in the Drama development team. They continue to write, telling stories with heart that champion funny women at their centre.
