Bio
Ed is an award-winning Brighton-based playwright and poet. His plays include STRANGERS LIKE ME (National Theatre Connections, 2023), MONGREL ISLAND (Soho Theatre), THE COW PLAY (Edinburgh Fringe), NEVER EVER AFTER (shortlisted for the Meyer-Whitworth Award) and WHAT THE THUNDER SAID (Theatre Centre, Writers' Guild Award 2017). He has also written numerous critically acclaimed radio plays, leading to a quartet of awards successes: a Writers’ Guild Award for TROLL, a Sony Gold Award for THE RESISTANCE OF MRS BROWN, a BBC Audio Drama Award for BILLIONS, and most recently the Prix Europa for FRANZ & FELICE, the centrepiece of BBC Radio 4’s Kafka season, for which Ed also adapted THE TRIAL and THE MAN WHO DISAPPEARED. He is perhaps best known for the much loved BBC Radio 4 comedy series DOT starring Fenella Woolgar, which was commissioned for three series and a stand-alone special. Ed also wrote the libretto for A SHOE FULL OF STARS (Opera Schmopera) which won the RESEO award for Best Opera at the YAM Awards 2018 and he is currently writing a libretto for London Youth Opera.
