Eoin Cleland is a writer-director who specialises in character, humour and warmth. He has a particular interest in narratives about disability and was nominated as the UK's Best New Director 2020 at the Edinburgh TV Festival for the BBC TV movie UPS & DOWNS (Best TV Movie - New York TV Festival). That's where he discovered frequent collaborator James Martin, the first actor with Downs Syndrome to win an Oscar. He has directed episodes of TED'S TOP TEN (a CITV sitcom), PICKLESTORM (a CBBC sitcom) and THE BREAK (BBC3). He also directed WILLIAM OF ORANGEDALE (a comedy pilot BLAP for Hat Trick/Channel 4). As a writer, he has written episodes of RTÉ's long-standing soap FAIR CITY, BBCNI's college drama series 6 Degrees and the CBeebies animation ODO.
