Bio
Finn Anderson is a Scottish composer, writer and singer-songwriter. He has co-created four award-nominated musicals, released three albums, and collaborated with leading theatre companies, venues, artists and musicians throughout the UK and internationally.
Most recently he co-created hit musical ISLANDER. Conceived on the Isle of Mull for just two performers and live looping technology, ISLANDER was part of the prestigious Made In Scotland showcase, winning Musical Theatre Review’s Best Musical award before a transfer to London’s Southwark Playhouse, where the show was nominated for the Off West End Award for Best New Musical. ISLANDER has since been translated into Korean and Polish, adapted for BBC Radio 4, and recreated for screen with Dundee Rep and Eden Court Highlands.
Other musical theatre work includes CITY OF DREAMS and A MOTHER'S SONG (American Music Theatre Project/Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) CALL TO ADVENTURE (BBC Scotland/National Theatre of Scotland, Scenes For Survival), COME HELL OR HIGH WATER (Citizens Theatre/Sky Arts), STREETS (Hackney Empire/The Cockpit/The Vaults, ‘Best New Musical’ nominee, Off West End Awards). As a composer Finn has created music for theatre, circus, dance and art projects including collaborations with Dundee Rep, National Theatre of Scotland, Upswing Aerial Circus, Scottish Dance Theatre, Scottish School of Contemporary Dance, Bush Theatre, Horsecross Perth, and video artist Rachel Maclean for Tate Galleries and Venice Biennale. Finn was selected as the Cameron Mackintosh Resident Composer at The Lowry and Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester.
