Greer Ellison

Greer is an award-winning writer and producer from Northern Ireland. He co-founded London based production company Paradox House which has produced 10+ features and had films playing at Cannes, Berlin, Toronto and Sundance Film Festival.

His debut feature film, BUTTERFLY KISSES, premiered at the 2017 Berlin Film Festival where it won the Crystal Bear for Best Film, making Greer the youngest person to win this award. BUTTERFLY KISSES went on to win another 10 awards and receive a further 12 nominations internationally.

Released in 2024, he wrote the Amazon Original romantic comedy HOW TO DATE BILLY WALSH, which premiered on Prime Video, where it held the number 02 spot on Amazon’s worldwide charts for over three weeks. Also released in 2024, Greer wrote the phycological horror movie, THE BEAST WITHIN, starring Kit Harrington. Distributed by Universal Studios, THE BEAST WITHIN was released theatrically across North America and then on Hulu where it held the number 01 spot for 10 days. In the UK it reached number 03 on Paramount +.

Greer’s next horror film, HIDE & DON’T SPEAK is greenlit through Range Media Partners and is scheduled to start production in Vancouver 2025. HIDE & DON’T SPEAK is being produced by Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (LONGLEGS, INSIDIOUS, SINISTER).

Greer is also a series regular writer on the hit BBC Northern Irish television crime drama HOPE STREET on which he has written episodes across the last 3 seasons, and he has a host of original ideas in active development with leading UK Indies. Greer has written two audio dramas for BBC Sounds and BBC Radio 3 spanning thegenres of drama and fantasy.

His scripts have been selected for the BBC Drama Room, BBC Writers Room, Microwave, Midpoint, LA Screenwriters Festival, Northern Ireland Screen Development Funding, Cinestory, IFP, and the Sam Spiegel Film Lab.
