Manjeet Mann

Manjeet is an actress and writer for stage and screen as well as being a multi award winning children’s author. Her debut play FLYING SOLO toured for two years around the UK 2016-2018. Her second, A DANGEROUS WOMAN toured throughout 2018 and was longlisted for the Verity Bargate Award. 

She is an alumna of Kali Theatre Writer Programme where she wrote THIS OTHER EDEN which was performed at The Arcola Theatre and also Soho Theatre Writers Lab 2016-2018 and was an associate artist at The Birmingham Repertory Theatre 2016-2018 where she wrote WHISPERS and short plays for Front Room Theatre. In 2019 she was commissioned to write a short comedy film for BBC Asian Network/BBC Writers Room and was a featured writer/performer for the Edinburgh Showcase at the Edinburgh Festival 2019. In 2023 she adapted her debut novel RUN, REBEL for the stage with Pilot Theatre, which toured to great acclaim.

Manjeet’s second novel The Crossing won The United Kingdom Literary Award, rhe 2021 Costa Children’s Book Award and was the overall winner of the Sheffield Children’s Book Awards 2022. It was also shortlisted for the Waterstones Book Prize 2022, the Carnegie Medal 2022, the YA Book Prize 2022 and the CLPE CLIPPA Poetry Award 2022.
