Bio
Moreblessing Maturure is a Zimbabwean/Australian inter-disciplinary artist, TEDx Speaker and Founder of FOLK Magazine. Her work across literature, stage and screen as a performer and writer includes residencies with Playwriting Australia (PWA), ATYP, and Sydney Theatre Company. Currently, she’s developing Screen Australia funded projects: AFRO SISTAHS and MASC (Revlover, Easy Tiger) and participated in Screen Australia’s Developing the Developer workshop (2019) leading to aN Associate Development Producer role with Kojo Studios. For stage, she’s developing: Bruntwood Prize shortlisted NO PINK DICKS with Darlinghurst Theatre Company and is presenting MILK & HONEY & LEMONS (Next Wave, Campbelltown Arts Centre) later this year.
The multi award-winning artist has appeared in a suite of projects across stage and screen including the critically acclaimed sell-out Australian tour of SEVEN METHODS OF KILLING KYLIE JENNER. Parallel to her practice, she works as dramaturg, consultant and advocate across the entertainment industry, for anti racist and inclusive practices while sitting on MEAA’s National Performers Committee.
