Bio

Nikki is a musical theatre bookwriter/lyricist whose commissions include Michael Morpurgo's WHY THE WHALES CAME, with music by Bella Barlow (Theatre Royal Plymouth, The Brewhouse Taunton and The Mack Theatre Mountview), Tom Randle’s opera LOVE ME TO DEATH (Barbican Pit Theatre and Tête à Tête Opera Festival), and DEPTFORD WIVES (E15 Acting School and National Maritime Museum), directed by Tania Azevedo. Nikki is currently developing MINI (with Ben Glasstone), a rock musical based on the true story of young firestarter Michael ‘Mini’ Cooper, who captivated the nation in Franc Roddam’s seminal 1975 documentary, with a recent workshop at The Other Palace. She is also writing the lyrics for BETTE AND JOAN AND BABY JANE (book by Tracy-Ann Oberman and Shaun McKenna, music by James Cleeve), exploring Bette Davis and Joan Crawford’s legendary rivalry.
