Regularly voted one of the most influential of comedy series, Not The Nine O’Clock News featured satirical sketches on current news stories and pop culture, parody songs and spoof television shows. Produced by John Lloyd and Sean Hardie, it launched the careers of Rowan Atkinson, Pamela Stephenson, Mel Smith and Griff Rhys Jones, as well as such writers as Andy Hamilton, Guy Jenkin, Alistair Beaton, Laurie Rowley and Richard Curtis.
