Shaun McKenna

Shaun is an award-winning screenwriter and Olivier nominated playwright and lyricist known for both large scale and intimate projects. His 2005 stage version of THE LORD OF THE RINGS is currently on a world tour and his adaptation (with Lin Coghlan) of THE FORSYTE SAGA was a 2024 hit at the Park and transfers to one of the national subsidised companies in 2025. A stage version of another iconic series of novels will follow, to be announced. His original comedy EXHIBITIONISTS opened the new Kings Head Theatre in Islington in 2024 and his musical MADDIE opens off-Broadway in 2025. Other theatre credits include LAST DANCE in New York, seven adaptations of Peter James novels since 2014, LADIES IN LAVENDER and four West End musicals. Forthcoming projects include the musical LOOKING GLASS WARS and the films MEET FRANKIE, DRAUGR and OSCAR’S BOYS. Extensive radio credits include HOME FRONT (lead writer for three seasons), CHINA TOWNS, THE COMPLETE SM ILEY and GONE WITH THE WIND. He is now a regular writer on THE ARCHERS. TV includes LIKE FATHER LIKE SON, THE CROOKED MAN and three seasons of HEARTBEAT.
