Bio

Tim is an award-winning composer and musical director. He has worked extensively with the National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, The Globe, National Theatre of Scotland, Young Vic, and Almeida Theatre.

Music for theatre includes A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA, TWELFTH NIGHT and MEASURE FOR MEASURE (The Globe), THE GOOD LIFE (Bath Theatre Royal), THE OMISSION OF THE FAMILY COLEMAN (Ustinov, Bath), THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR, AS YOU LIKE IT, TITUS ANDRONICUS, THE TWO NOBLE KINSMEN and WOMEN BEWARE WOMEN (RSC), THE AMEN CORNER and MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM (National Theatre), THE SECRET GARDEN (West Yorkshire Playhouse), DREAMFIGHTER (Lichfield Festival), THE BACCHAE (National Theatre of Scotland), AS YOU LIKE IT (Young Vic at Wyndham’s Theatre) and AS YOU DESIRE ME (Playhouse). Original music for radio includes ALEXEI SAYLE'S IMAGINARY SANDWICH BAR, SERIES 1-5, THE ABSENCE OF NORMAL, THE NOW SHOW, PAUL SINHA'S GENERAL KNOWLEDGE and PAUL SINHA’S PERFECT PUB QUIZ (BBC Radio 4), and MOTHER COURAGE AND HER CHILDREN (BBC Radio 3).

Originals musical include TO THE STREETS! (China Plate), RESTLESS NATIVES (Wild Yak Prouctions, Perth Theatre and Touring 2025), and THE BOY WHO HARNESSED THE WIND (RSC, Kenny Wax Productions 2026). His community opera CYCLE SONG won the Royal Philharmonic Society Learning & Participation Award 2012.

Tim is an Associate Member of the Inner Magic Circle. He is also committed to the development of new musical theatre, having mentored aspiring writers on the Book, Music and Lyrics workshop since its inception in 2011, and been a course leader on the Writers’ Lab at Birmingham Hippodrome Department of New Musical Theatre.
