Toby Torlesse

Toby’s first feature, an adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s World War II drama WAITING FOR ANYA which he wrote while studying history at the University of Edinburgh, was theatrically released in both the UK and USA. He has since been commissioned to rewrite heartfelt, Christmas comedy MY DAD’S CHRISTMAS DATE which became an Amazon Exclusive and has spent time in development, working extensively as a script editor and consultant – most recently on Tim Lewiston’s dramedy THERE’S ALWAYS HOPE and Andrew Hunt’s psychological thriller THE INFERNAL MACHINE which has been purchased by Paramount Pictures.

Lately, Toby has completed an original male, platonic love story called ROUNDABOUT FOOLS and is in the process of developing a slate of other dramas - period as well as contemporary - for film, television, and theatre.
