Bio
Elin is an award-winning director, writer and movement director and a graduate of the University of Sheffield. She co-founded and directed both award-winning, small-scale touring company Footprint Theatre and the Young Company (18-25) at Sheffield Theatres. She completed a National Theatre directing course in 2020 lead by Katie Mitchell and she has also trained as a director on Sheffield Theatre’s The Bank Scheme and Company 3’s Making Work with Young People Course. As a writer she has been a part of the Royal Court’s Playwriting Group and the Sheffield Theatres’ Playwriting Group. In 2022 Elin took part in one of the most audacious productions of the year as she directed the final play in ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS the Chris Bush trilogy at Sheffield Theatres in celebration of the theatre’s 50th anniversary, for which she won the Best Director Award at the 2022 UK Theatre Awards. The production was a roaring success, with praise across the board for Elin’s work on SCISSORS. Elin co-wrote her first play SCREWDRIVER which she also directed and that premiered at the Lyric Hammersmith and Sheffield Theatres in 2020 and she has further writing projects in early stages of development for both stage and screen. Elin was Associate Director on STANDING AT THE SKY'S EDGE, Olivier Award Winner for Best New Musical 2023, and DEAR ENGLAND, Olivier Award Winner for Best New Play 2024. Elin directed Chris Bush's adaptation of Ibsen's A DOLL'S HOUSE at the Sheffield Crucible Theatre in Autumn 2024, as well as ROBIN HOOD AND THE CHRISTMAS HEIST, at the Rose Theatre Kingston, also by Chris Bush.
